We recognize each student’s heart is tender and to be treated gently regardless of age.  We will grow each student’s musical abilities, excite a student’s passion for music, and nurture in each student a lasting love of music. We will focus on each student for every minute of every lesson. We will listen and pay attention to the individual needs of each student.  We will customize lesson plans to suit students and modify and think outside the box to deliver engaging music lessons for the duration of their studies!  We have been delivering on this promise for over 45 years!

Our Academy music teachers have BM, BME, BA, MM, MA, and DMA degrees and have studied at the Ohio State University, Julliard School of Music, College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, the Cleveland Institute of Music, Conservatory of Music at Capital University, Carnegie Mellon University, Miami University, Conservatory of Music at Lawrence University, and others. They have extensive performance experience including at Carnegie Hall, National Taichung Theatre, Lucca (Italy), (Sevilla) Spain, and (Vienna) Austria. They have won regional and international competitions, a major music brand endorsement, and been awarded a Fulbright scholarship. But most importantly, our teachers have been described by our families as dedicated, professional, devoted, patient, kind, dependable, encouraging, and supportive!

Founded in 1980 in Westerville, Ohio, Encore Music Studios has served more than 3,000 families with over 155,000 music lessons for 45+ years. We are accredited by the Better Business Bureau with an A+ rating, have won Angie’s List Super Service Award, Thumbtack’s Top Pro award, and have 5-star ratings on Google, Yelp, and Lessons.com.  Most importantly, we care deeply about each of our students and families and see them as an extension of our own Encore family.

We established Kitty’s Music Scholarship Fund™ in 2019 and have Awarded over $5348 to 11 recipients. Our Encore families and others have donated $2210 so far. The Westerville Academy of Music (623 Park Meadow Rd. Ste A 43081) and The Columbus Academy of Music (2732 Sawbury Blvd. 43235) locations are each conveniently located and immediately accessible from 270N.  We have plenty of free parking and are handicapped accessible as each location is on the ground floor.  We are within 10 miles or closer for Columbus, Westerville, Huber Ridge, Minerva Park, Dublin, Shawnee Hills, Plain City, Worthington, Flint, New Albany, Galena, Sunbury, Gahanna, Lewis Center, Powell, Polaris, Clintonville, North Linden, Upper Arlington, Amlin, Amity, Hilliard, and the OSU Campus areas.
